I just bought a brand new set of new old stock wheels for my tiny car swap project. I can’t for the life of me figure out what they are. I do know they are 4x100 and the date code on the box says they are older than me by 5 months. 5 internets to whomever can ID them!

They are Aries, series 550000. Been available since at least 1985.

I knew them from the ‘80s and had just enough google-fu to find them!
My X-type is too a real Jaguar

I’m flashing back to high school, they were on almost every clapped out VW rabbit in the parking lot.

Interesting! These keep coming up on my search for 4x100 wheels for the Miata. A pretty much matching copy

neat- o. I am planning on using these on a rotary swapped car. I might get my buddy to cut vinyl rotors to put in the center of them, or I might leave it just to be subtle. Still deciding. I got all 4 center caps and a spare center cap with them.

I started by searching “v intage American Racing wheels” then looked at the image results. I spotted them on a catalog in the middle of the results.
The rest is history.

I’m shooting for radwood next year. Too busy this year to hit Philly, unphortunately.

I REALLY want to find a set of 14 or 15's with a 4x100 pattern that are that cool
EDIT: For my 1984 Dodge Rampage.

Yeah those would be ideal, but I couldn’t pass up the killer deal on these. Plus 13s fit the car I’m putting them on pretty well.
Super envious of your Rampage btw! They are my favorite ute!

That’s been on the back burner since I found out the Chassis I was working with had some rust issues that were covered up by a re-paint. I may let that one go before winter and re-start it with a more solid chassis . The other miata is moving slowly. I picked up a cheap festiva for my girlfriend, gotta swap the engine though (spun bearing). Should have that wrapped up this weekend. It’s been a busy summer!

Thanks, it’s pretty fun so far. R uns well for a 34 year old car.
